Right now, I am blogging from Ivy Tech.

The library is closed, so I’m not using Zoomtext at the moment, but this CRT isn’t too bad. Its leaving a glaire on the screen, but not too bad. I’m working with Combined Community Services today, collecting more cans of food for the poor. I brought in some cans of stuff today, and are watching Harry Potter, Order of the Phoenix, before it comes out on video. Not sure how they managed that, but the Ivy Tech Student Government set it up. I wasn’t allowed to take part in Student Government, because my GPA isn’t high enough, but I got to help a little today anyway. I was suprised they wouldn’t let me in Student Government, since the Leadership Academy is similar in nature, but Student Government, and Delta Cappa Gamma have a 3.0 GPA requirement, so oh well. Nothing I can do about my GPA, even I get all A’s in my classes ths year, the A’s don’t cancel out past F’s, they just average into my GPA, so 5 F’s from 15 years ago, and one A, in the same class, still works out to be an F average. Doesn’t seem fair, but I have to deal with it.

Anyway, right now ‘m just waiting for the movie to start. Susan and Angie went to a meeting at their church, and dropped me off on their way an hour early, because they had to be at their thing by 6PM and I didn’t have to be at mine til 7PM, so I thought I would just blog at school until the movie starts.

Gosh this white hurts my eyes after awhile, but at least it works for now. The difference, is this monitor is a CRT, and mine at home is an LCD. CRT’s are easier to read for me, something about the higher contrast ratio’s I don’t know. My LCD at home has a 4000:1 contrast Ratio, and still not as good as a CRT, so I wouldn’t be able to do this at home without Zoomtext, but for now it works, even though my face is practically imprinted against the glass at the moment, hehe. but oh well, no different then when I was a kid using those old 10 inch green monitors from the old VAX 9370 days, hehe. It would just help tremendously if this was on a black background instead of white, would make a world of difference. Oh well, right now I’m just bored and couldn’t think of anything better to do. hehe WIthout Zoomtext, I can’t surf other webpages like i normally do at home, or use any of the Office Applications. About all I could do without Zoomtext, is play on the command line, but who does command line stuff anymore. It would be nice to find a job working from the command line though, so I wouldn’t have to mess with having to have Zoomtext, maybe one day I’ll get a chance to. A lady online was telling me, she works for IBM developing Java programs for clusters, and she says all they do is work from the command line, and they have whole departments of disabled people like me. Of course I would never have the money to move to a different state, but still it gives me hope for the future at least.
