This summer, I’m taking CIS 280, which is a co-op internship class. My Guidance Counselor from school, found me a job at a web development company called Vision It Now. I just had to do it to complete my 96 hours of internship required for my degree. I couldn’t get paid for it, otherwise it would mess up Social Security, and that 1,500 “total household income” limitation crap, so I volunteered to do it for free for those 96 hours, but the job ended up not working out like I had hoped.

Welp, after 18 years, its almost official. 18 years of struggling not being able to see well enough and figure out how to get information off the blackboard, overhead projectors, Powerpoint presentations, in my classes, it’ll be finally official May 9th at 6pm at Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana, finally a college graduate!

Well, yesterday I graduated from the Leadership Academy. Graduation was held at Anderson University this year.

Some of those names are hard to read, I understand. President Thomas Snyder is the head of the Leadership Academy for all 13 regions of Ivy Tech throughout the country. Most of the regions are around the Indiana Michgan area, but there were some just outside as well. We had a few guest speakers during the graduation ceremony, but I can’t tell you what all their names were, I forget now. LOL

Well,  after a long semester, and a short holiday,  my short hiatus before spring semester, is coming to a close.

On a side note, since I’ve been having learning issues at school lately. Reading / understanding my textbooks, and understanding what I listen to on tape, I decided to take the colleges advice, and have myself tested at the Bowen Center, to see what my problem with learning, and memorizing material for tests, is about, because anyone who knows me, knows I have never passed a test in my entire life; grade school, blind school, college, anywhere, homework I have always done ok at, with parents or someone elses help, so I had to find out what the heck that was about.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this or not, but I found out from one of my friends in Ft Wayne, that there is a National Federation for the Blind local Chapter in Columbia City, which has really been a wonderful Organization to get involved in.
