About me
My name is Tom. I’m 37 and I currently live in Warsaw, Indiana.
My Interests include Swimming, walking, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Computers, Networking, Web design, and spending time with my family.
I was born totally Blind from a condition called Congenital Rubella Syndrome. The doctors were able to restore partial vision over 11 surgeries thru the course of my lifetime, but were not able to restore it fully, so now I am considered to be Legally Blind with a visual acuity of 20/300 in my better eye with best correction possible. This means that a legally blind individual would have to stand 20 feet from an object to see it with the same degree of clarity as a normally sighted person could from 300 feet. with a visual field of 20 degrees, with the norm being 180. I also attended the Indiana School for the Blind from 1981-1987 then moved back to Ft Wayne to finish my remaining junior and senior years at Northrop High School in Ft Wayne.
The CRS as its referred to, also gave me a disease later on in my life called Crohn’s Disease, which is a rare, chronic, episodic disease where the immune system contributes to swelling and damage to the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus. Although the cause isn’t quite known, I have found that following a strict nutritional, well-balanced diet, really helps to keep the swelling and damage under control so that I can continue to live an active lifestyle. Most people think of weight loss when they hear the word “dietâ€, but in many of these types of Diseases, we find that following a strict diet plan keeps the swelling from spreading. This Diet plan consists of a sugar-free, gluten-free, grain-free, starch-free diet that starves bad bacteria in the body balancing the bodies normal bacteria levels, which helps to keep the body free of disease and other complications, which seems to work about 80% of the time, but I still suffer with minor complications which has changed my life in so many ways.
This blog is a place where I complain and moan about various things, but also mention useful items that I sometimes stumble upon.. By reading this blog, you agree not to get offended by anything I may write here. This is a general log I keep about my life, my hopes, my dreams, and general thoughts I have at the present moment. Your basically listening into someone else’s life from that persons point of view, Just because I moan about something here, doesn’t mean I do not care about other people. Everybody needs somebody to listen to, and a place to get their most intimate thoughts off their chest, and since I don’t have any friends or anyone to talk to really, this is my place to “vent”, so you can take it or leave it is up to you, but I find blogging this way fascinating, which I feel beats Reality TV any day. ![]()
So that’s pretty much it about me in a nutshell. Happy reading.
